A teenager has appeared in court charged with the murder of a man in Dublin earlier this year.

The 17-year-old, who cannot been named for legal reasons, was arrested on Christmas Eve morning.

He appeared before Dublin District Court later on Christmas Eve and was remanded in custody for a week.

35-year-old David Rooney of Durrow Road, Crumlin, was pronounced dead on 12 July, ten days after the alleged assault took place on Clonmacnoise Road in Crumlin.
