A 26-year-old man has appeared in court charged with the manslaughter of a man who died after being attacked as his car was parked in a lay-by near Dublin Airport.
Paul Gibbons, with an address at Moatview Drive, Priorswood in Dublin 17, is charged with unlawfully killing Valeri Ranert at Naul Road near Dublin Airport on the 30 April 2007.
He is further charged with hijacking Mr Ranert's Volkswagen Golf on the same date at the same location.
Paul Gibbons was charged at Swords District Court today.
He was granted legal aid and remanded on bail to appear again in court in January.
He is the second person to be charged with the manslaughter of Mr Ranert.
Last November, 27-year-old Ian Daly, also with an address at Moatview Drive, Priorswood in Dublin 17, was charged with unlawfully killing Valeri Ranert.
Ian Daly is further charged with assaulting 27-year old Mr Ranert causing him harm.
Valeri Ranert was attacked by a group of people who approached his car as it was parked in a lay-by near Dublin Airport between 12.30am and 1am on 30 April 2007.
He was pulled from his vehicle and left lying on the roadside before his car was driven away.
It was later found burned out at a disused halting site near Darndale, off the N32.
