An Army bomb disposal team has made safe two viable explosive devices found in south inner city Dublin.

The Defence Forces said the devices were discovered at open ground near St Teresa's Gardens this morning.

They said the devices could have been left for transport for use at a later date.

The all clear was given just before 11am. No controlled explosion was carried out.

The remains of the devices were handed over to gardaí for further investigation.
