The Board of FÁS has said it has strengthened the internal audit function within the organisation.
It may also consider the use of external support in this area if required.
A statement was issued by the board following a lengthy meeting last night to discuss the recent controversy over expenses and foreign trips.
The statement said it had assured the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment that it is determined to place all matters of concern about past practice in the public domain.
The Public Accounts Committee is due to report on the matter in the New Year.
