An inquest in Britain has heard how a 12-year-old boy died after spraying too much deodorant on himself.

Daniel Hurley from Derbyshire died last January.

Derby Coroner's Court heard that use of the spray in a confined space led to the schoolboy suffering a cardiac arrhythmia.

He collapsed in the bathroom of his home and was found by his father.

Despite attempts to revive him, he died five days later in hospital.

At the inquest into his death, his father said Daniel was always spraying deodorant and it was quite common for him to spray his clothes as well.

Recording a verdict of accidental death, the court heard that it was the use of the spray in a confined space that had led to death.

The Coroner said it seemed that a volatile agent had caused cardiac arrhythmia.

The Coroner also said he was satisfied that Unilever, the manufacturer of the product, had given adequate warnings on cans that large amounts should not be used in a confined area.
