Former world boxing champion Stephen Collins has gone on trial for allegedly assaulting a bouncer at the National Boxing Stadium two years ago.
Mr Collins, of St Albans in Hertfordshire, has pleaded not guilty to assaulting Mr Adriatik Vodo causing him harm at the National Boxing Stadium on 3 June 2006.
Opening the case for the prosecution, Sean Gillane said Mr Vodo was employed on the night to check passes at the boxing event.
Dubliner Bernard Dunne was fighting in one of the bouts, which he said had attracted attention from the general public, media and commentators.
Mr Gillane told Judge Des Hogan the doorman was assigned to a side gate where VIPs and properly accredited media gained access.
The court heard that Mr Vodo was instructed that no-one could be allowed in without a valid pass.
It was claimed that a man approached the entrance and was asked for his pass and he replied 'do you know my name?'
The court also heard Mr Vodo continued to block the door and asked the man to calm down and relax.
It is claimed that the man told Mr Vodo 'you have two seconds to move' and threatened to put his teeth on the floor.
Mr Gillane alleged that Mr Vodo was told his two seconds were up and was punched.
He said that his client was hit underneath the chin causing a fracture to two teeth.
The prosecutor said evidence would establish the man seeking entry at the time was Stephen Collins.
The trial continues.
