A 25-year-old man has gone on trial for dangerous driving causing the deaths of three people, in what was described in court as a horrific crash.
Niall McGrath of Grahamstown, Ballintra, Co Donegal has pleaded not guilty to three charges of dangerous driving causing death and one charge of endangerment at Ballintra on 11 September, 2005.
It is alleged that at about 6.15pm on that date, Mr McGrath appeared on his motorbike suddenly and at excessive speed and caused a number of crashes culminating in a fatal collision between two cars in which three people died.
They were Damien and Teresa Quigg, both aged 49, from Dungiven in Co Derry and 74-year-old Nora McGee, from Gortahork, Co Donegal.
