President Mary McAleese is beginning a four-day state visit to Norway today.
The president will be meeting the King and Queen tomorrow along with the Prime Minister of the country.
On Wednesday she will give an address at the Norwegian Nobel Institute.
The title of her speech is 'Paths to Peace - Reflections on the Irish Experience'.
Her visit to Norway will conclude on Thursday.
