Five people have been arrested following a shooting in Dublin last night.
A man in his 20s was shot in the abdomen in a field in Cherry Orchard in west Dublin at around 10.15pm.
He was taken to St James's hospital where his condition is described as serious but stable.
A short time later gardaí from the organised crime unit stopped two cars and arrested the five men.
They are now being held in Clondalkin, Ballyfermot and Ronanstown garda stations.
A Honda Civic was also found burnt out not far from the shooting.
Gardaí believe the five men in custody are linked to one of the two feuding Drimnagh-Crumlin criminal gangs.
