Three men have been ordained to the priesthood in Dublin this morning. They are the first to be ordained in the diocese in two years.
The three, who were ordained by Archbishop of Dublin Dr Diarmuid Martin, join over 600 other priests in Dublin.
33-year-old Fr Michael Kelly, 37-year-old Fr Dan au Nguyen and 58-year-old Richard Shannon were ordinated at St Mary’s Pro Cathedral.
The ordinations come amid a continuing decline in numbers joining the priesthood, which has proved a challenge for the Archdiocese.
