A date has been set for the trial of a Limerick man accused of making a false statement to gardaí about an alleged incident involving Minister for Defence, Willie O'Dea.
Matt Larkin of Altimara Court, Thomondgate, is charged with making the false statement last October.
It concerned an alleged incident involving Mr O'Dea at the Bank Bar on 27 September 2007.
Today at Limerick District Court Judge Tom O'Donnell adjourned the case for hearing to 18 September when Mr O'Dea will be called to give evidence.
