A life sized bronze sculpture of John F Kennedy has been unveiled in New Ross, Co Wexford.
His sister, former US Ambassador to Ireland, Jean Kennedy Smith unveiled the statue and spoke of his visit to New Ross and the legacy of his presidency.
The statue marks the 45th anniversary of the former US president’s three day visit to New Ross and Ireland
Also in attendance were Gay Byrne, An Cathaoirleach of New Ross Town Council, Councillor Ray Lawlor, Minister for Finance, Brian Lenihan. and sculptor Ann Meldon Hugh.
Ms Kennedy Smith also said her brother, US Senator Ted Kennedy, is is very positive and is doing very well.
Ted Kennedy is being treated for a brain tumor.
