A 41-year-old man has been brought before a special sitting of Gorey District Court charged over a seizure of cannabis with an estimated value of more than €500,000 in Rosslare earlier this week.
Francis William O'Brien - who is Irish but living in Spain - was remanded in custody to appear at Cloverhill prison.
Meanwhile, seven people arrested in connection with a drugs seizure in Galway city on Thurday have been released.
A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
