Minister for Agriculture, Food and Fisheries Brendan Smith has told the EU Farm Commissioner that current proposals for farming in the World Trade Organisation talks are not acceptable.
Speaking on RTÉ Radio's Morning Ireland, after meeting with a number of his EU counterparts, Mr Smith said the ministers told Farm Commissioner Mariann Fischer Boel that Europe had conceded too much already.
And he said a proposed ministerial meeting of the WTO in July should be postponed.
'We should not be pushed into a bad deal,' he added.
