Three men have been arrested and €5m worth of cannabis herb and heroin have been found in Dublin.

20kgs of heroin, worth €4m, was discovered during a search of a storage facility at an industrial estate in Clondalkin.

A 24-year-old man was arrested at that location and a 36-year-old man was detained nearby.

He is believed to be the organiser and a dealer with connections to Limerick and Cork criminal gangs.

He is also currently on bail on other drugs charges.

A parked car was also searched on the Sperrin Road in Crumlin and another 5kgs of heroin worth €1m was seized.

A third man in his 30s was arrested in the city.

Gardaí have been targeting this supply network for some time and further searches and arrests are expected.

The men are currently being held at Clondalkin and Ballyfermot Garda Stations.
