The Ennis murder conspiracy trial has heard a second email was sent to RTÉ 2fm's The Gerry Ryan Show entitled 'sleeping with the enemy'.
A Garda computer expert has confirmed that the text of the email could not be retrieved from the memory of a computer seized from the home of Sharon Collins and PJ Howard.
45-year-old Sharon Collins of Kildysart Road, Ennis, Co Clare, and Essam Eid, an Egyptian living in Las Vegas, are on trial for conspiracy to murder PJ Howard and his two sons Robert and Niall. They deny the charges.
Detective Garda Peter Keenan told the court he found the email from an eircom.net address with the username SharonCollins to the radio show.
This and another email to the show were both responded to by an automatic reply email from the show.
However counsel for Sharon Collins Michael Bowman said the emails, which had been produced by the prosecution as a 'smoking gun', were incomplete.
Mr Bowman said that there were no statements taken from the show's staff.
He added that Gerry Ryan had told 350,000 listeners that he did not get the email. The prosecution objected to Mr Bowman's statement.
Tom O'Connell SC said that it was hearsay and he should call Gerry Ryan as a witness. Mr Bowman said he did not propose to do this.
