A 21-year-old man has been attacked by a gang in the Rathcoole estate on the outskirts of north Belfast.
The victim was beaten by up to ten men, some believed to be armed with hammers, at the rear of a row of houses at Dunloy Gardens.
The PSNI said the man suffered extensive cuts and bruising to the head and body, although his condition is not believed to be life threatening.
Police appealed for any witnesses to the attack, which occurred at around 9.20pm last night, to contact them.
