Three people have been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of Darren McGrath in Belturbet, Co Cavan, last week.
The two men and one woman are being questioned in two garda stations in Monaghan.
A man in his 40s and a woman in her 20s are being questioned in Monaghan Garda Station, while a man also in his 20s is being questioned in Castleblayney Garda Station.
The 31-year-old was shot dead last Tuesday by a lone gunman at a house in the Kilconny Estate.
