A murder investigation has been launched following the shooting of a man in his home in Belturbet, Co Cavan.
The 31-year-old was shot dead by a lone gunman at around 5am this morning at a house in the Kilconny Estate.
He has been named locally as Darren McGrath.
Mr McGrath's partner and 13-month-old baby were not physically harmed in the attack.
The house has been sealed off and the State Pathologist and Garda Technical Bureau have been called to the scene.
