A man has been arrested in connection with the abduction and murder of an undercover British soldier in Armagh more than 30 years ago.
In May 1977, Captain Robert Nairac of the Grenadier Guards, who was believed to be working for the British intelligence services, was abducted from the Three Steps Inn in the Drumintee area of south Armagh.
He was taken across the border to the Ravensdale forest in Co Louth, where he was interrogated by the IRA and then shot dead. His body has never been recovered.
Later, six people were convicted for their part in the killing of Mr Nairac, five from Northern Ireland and one from the Republic.
The suspect arrested early today was detained by members of the PSNI's Crime Operations department in south Armagh, and is being questioned in Antrim police base.
