A 19-year-old man is being questioned by police in Bristol under the British Terrorism Act.

About 30 people had to be evacuated from their homes while a controlled explosion was carried out at the man's home.

Assistant Chief Constable Jackie Roberts said that materials will be sent for analysis after the blast.

He said the operation came in response to intelligence the police received yesterday.
