A 19-year-old man has been remanded in custody after being charged with the attempted murder of a man in east Belfast.
Ross McCartney, who is physically disabled, was severely injured in the attack at his home on the Castlereagh Road on Friday.
Mr McCartney was punched, kicked and beaten with a blunt instrument. He suffered head injuries in the attack. He was taken to the hospital, where he is in critical condition.
This morning 19-year-old David McCarroll was charged with attempted murder at Belfast Magistrate's Court. He was also charged with stealing a mobile phone and a laptop.
He is remanded in custody until 28 April.
Separately, a 29-year-old man is also facing an attempted murder charge following a domestic incident in the Ballyhackamore area.
