Issues relating to class sizes, a shortage of Government funding and difficulties with new school curricula will be debated by teachers at their annual union conferences.
The three teachers' unions conferences take place this week.
Members of the Irish National Teachers' Organisation and the Association of Secondary Teachers are angry at the lack of progress made in reducing class sizes.
Speaking on RTÉ Radio's News At One, the General Secretary of the INTO, John Carr, said it was unfair to expect children and parents to wait any longer for the Government to deliver on its promise to cut class sizes.
