A seriously mentally and physically disabled six-year-old boy has won the longest running birth-negligence case in the history of the state.
The High Court found that the National Maternity Hospital was negligent when Paul Kieran Fitzpatrick was born with cerebral palsy on St Stephen's Day in 2001.
Damages are to be decided at a later date.
