Gardaí have arrested six people in Cork following what is being described as a significant operation against the activities of a dissident republican organisation.
Four men were arrested by detectives from Cork City, who were backed up by a number of the national support units.
It is believed that the four were involved in an operation in the Montenotte area in the city tonight when the gardaí swooped just after 8pm.
Another two men were arrested in follow-up searches and the garda operation is continuing.
