About 80 people have taken part in a demonstration at the entrance to the Corrib gas terminal in Bellanaboy, Co Mayo.
The demonstration was part of a campaign of opposition to the €200m gas refinery on health and safety grounds, organised by the Shell to Sea group.
A workforce of 600 is involved in the project, which is due for completion at the end of next year.
Gardaí monitored the demonstration.
