Cardinal Seán Brady has taken possession of the church in Rome that was assigned to him along with his red hat.
It is named after Saints Cyricus and Julitta, a mother and son martyred in the fourth century.
Along with Rome-based Irish clergy, the cardinal concelebrated his first Mass in the church which he said was a reminder of the need for fearless and faithful witnesses to the joy of following Christ, even in the midst of daily challenges and trials.
