A 19-year-old man has been brought before Drogheda District Court, charged in relation to fatal stabbing of a 41-year-old man in the Co Louth town early yesterday.

Desmond Kimmins, a father of two from Ballsgrove in Drogheda, died after suffering chest wounds outside a house in Rathmullen Park.

This afternoon, Keith Cunningham, of Halpins Terrace, Drogheda, was charged with assaulting Mr Kimmins, causing harm.

The court heard that there was a possibility of further serious charges.

There was no application for bail.
