Pakistan's main opposition party, the Pakistan People's Party, which was led by Benazir Bhutto, has said it does not want next week's scheduled elections to be postponed.
Election officials have been discussing the safety of the poll in the wake of Ms Bhutto's assassination last Thursday.
A final decision on the election, which is scheduled for 8 January, will be announced tomorrow.
Yesterday, her widower Asif Ali Zardari said the PPP would contest the poll.
Nawaz Sharif, a two-time former premier, has said that his party will review its earlier plans to boycott the election.
