A murder investigation has been launched following the stabbing of a 23-year-old man in Ashbourne, Co Meath.
He has been named as Barry Maguire from Ashbourne.
Mr Maguire was stabbed in Milltown Estate in the town at around 4.15am this morning.
He was taken to Connolly Memorial Hospital in Blanchardstown where he was pronounced dead.
A post mortem examination this afternoon confirmed that he died from a stab wound.
Investigations are continuing.
