A 26-year-old man has been charged in connection with the stabbing of another man in a housing estate in Donacarney, Co Meath, yesterday morning.

Glen Dempsey, from Granley House in Dublin, was charged with assault causing serious harm.

At Dublin District Court this morning, he was remanded on bail to Clover Hill Court on 28 December.

The 46-year-old victim remains in a stable condition at Our Lady of Lourdes hospital in Drogheda.

He suffered a number of stab wounds in the incident at a house in Mornington Park. Mr Dempsey was arrested at the scene.
