The death has been announced of the Dean of Christ Church Cathedral in Dublin, the Very Reverend Desmond Harman. He was 66.
The Church of Ireland said Dean Harman died this morning in the Blackrock Clinic where he was being treated after a heart operation.
The Archbishop of Dublin, the Most Reverend Dr John Neill, paid tribute, saying the news of the death had been a terrible shock as Dean Harman seemed to be recovering.
