A man has been granted an injunction against the Property Registration Service arising out of the sale of a house to solicitor Thomas Byrne.
Darren Maguire, a bus driver from Co Kildare, agreed to sell the house in Crumlin to Mr Byrne and the sale was due to close on 17 October.
But on 19 October, a firm of solicitors acting on behalf of a financial institution which was owed money by Mr Byrne attempted to register it.
An undertaking to the EBS secured on the house was also entered into by Mr Byrne.
The President of the High Court, Mr Justice Richard Johnson, granted the order restraining the Property Registration Service from registering any new owner of the property.
Mr Byrne was in court for the proceedings before the President.
Those proceedings have now been adjourned until the new year.
While Mr Byrne was before the court, lawyers in another set of proceedings against Mr Byrne told Mr Justice Kelly in the Commercial Court that Mr Byrne could not be found at present.
Landlords, Terry Connors and Matthew Connors are taking legal action against Mr Byrne and Anglo Irish Bank.
They say six properties they bought were fraudulently registered by Mr Byrne in his own name and charged to Anglo Irish Bank.
