A 23-year-old man is still being questioned in connection with the death of a 33-year-old woman at a hotel in Limerick.
The man has had his period of detention extended for a further 12 hours.
The body of Sylvia Roche Kelly was found in a bath at the Clarion Hotel in the city last Saturday.
While a post mortem proved inconclusive, gardaí believe she was the victim of an assault.
The man was arrested near his home in Co Tipperary yesterday evening and brought to Henry Street Garda station in Limerick. His period of detention has now been extended.
It is understood he had left the jurisdiction and had gone to Scotland. However following intensive contacts with the man's family over the past three days, gardaí arrested him yesterday evening.
The 23-year-old is already on bail on assault and burglary charges as part of another investigation in Co Tipperary. More serious charges are pending in that case.
Ms Roche Kelly was the mother of two children and is being buried near her home in Sixmilebridge in Co Clare this afternoon.
