Garda Commissioner Fachtna Murphy has condemned last night's attack on three gardaí

The gardaí, one of whom is a student garda, had tried to arrest a man on Faussagh Avenue in Cabra at around 2.30am when a number of people came out of a house and attacked them.

The three were taken to the Mater Hospital, one with a suspected broken jaw.

Two men, aged 30 and 20, were due to appear at Dublin District Court today in connection with the incident.

They are being held at Mountjoy and Cabra Garda Stations

Another man was released without charge and a file will be prepared for the Director for Public Prosecutions.
