The case against the leading Republican Thomas 'Slab' Murphy has been further adjourned in Dundalk District Court.
Mr Murphy, a farmer and businessman, was arrested last week by members of the Criminal Assets Bureau and charged with tax offences.
In all he faces nine counts, which allege that between 1996 and 2004 he failed to deliver returns or sources in the proper form of his income, profits or gains.
Eight charges are brought under the Taxes Consolidation Act while one is under the Finance Act.
Mr Murphy, 58, a leading republican in the area and with an address at Ballybinaby, Hackballscross did not speak at today's brief hearing.
State solicitor Michael O'Donovan told the court that they were seeking a further remand until next month to allow for the service of the book of evidence.
Judge Flann Brennan remanded Mr Murphy on continuing bail to appear back before the Court on 12 December.
