The High Court has sent documents relating to a second solicitor to the Garda Fraud Squad.
Mr Justice Peter Kelly said that he was taking the decision because of the disturbing matters in documents submitted to the court by the EBS in their claim for the recovery of €12.5m from Walkinstown solicitor Thomas Byrne.
Mr Justice Kelly said large sums of money had been given on the basis of undertakings which had been dishonoured and not put in place on a grand scale.
The EBS, along with AIB and IIB got orders directing Mr Byrne to pay back loans of almost €30m.
Separately, Bank of Scotland Ireland got an order against solicitor Michael Lynn for the repayment of a €5.8m loan.
The bank's action against Mr Lynn's wife, Brid Murphy has been adjourned to allow her to defend it.
