Three men who were arrested yesterday in relation to a seizure of cocaine will appear before the District Court tomorrow morning.
3.5kg of cocaine, with an estimated value of €250,000, was seized as part of a joint operation between Customs Officers and the Garda National Drugs Unit.
Authorities have been monitoring and investigating the activities of the gang, which has been smuggling cocaine through the postal service.
The drugs were sent by courier from Peru to a safety deposit box in Rathmines over the past few days.
Three people arrived yesterday afternoon and all were arrested as they collected the drugs.
They are now being questioned in Terenure and Rathmines Garda Stations and can be held for up to seven days.
Separately, customs officials have seized 1.7kg of cannabis with an estimated street value of more than €20,000 in Rosslare, Co Wexford.
The drugs were found in a Polish registered car, which had arrived from Cherbourg in France on the ferry.
One person is being held at Wexford Garda station following the seizure.
