A 26-year-old man has been taken to the Midwestern Regional Hospital in Limerick with suspected gun shot wounds to his knee.
Gardaí at Roxboro Road Garda Station are investigating the incident.
The incident took place at Janesboro soccer pitch in the city at 4am this morning.
