Two men in court over €500,000 drug find

Two men from Co Armagh have appeared in court in Donegal charged in connection with the seizure of €500,000 worth of herbal cannabis in Falcarragh on Monday.

Kieran Smyth Sr, who is 47-years-old, and his 24 year old son Kieran Smyth Jr both face charges of possession of drugs and possession of drugs for sale or supply. 

Both men have an address at Old grange, Desert Lane, Armagh.

Judge Conal Gibbons remanded both men in custody with consent to bail provided they each put up personal surieties of €1,000 as well as separate independent sureities of €100,000 each. 

The judge also stated that as part of their bail conditions, the men must also live in Donegal, sign on daily with the gardaí, surrender their passports and agree not to apply for any travel documents in Ireland, Northern Ireland or Britain.
