A 26-year-old man suffered gunshot wounds to his leg in an incident in Inchicore in Dublin last night.
The incident occurred on Tyrconnell Road at around 11.50pm.
He was taken by ambulance to St James's Hospital where his injuries are described as not life threatening.
It is thought that the victim was approached by a lone gunman who fired two shots and then escaped in the direction of Jamestown Court.
The scene has been sealed off for a technical examination.
