Police in the Canary Islands are continuing their investigation into the death of an 18-year-old Irishman in Lanzarote.
He has been named as Dereck Cumiskey from Townsend Street in Dublin.
Mr Cumiskey died during a fight in the resort of Puerto del Carmen. It is understood he was beaten with an iron bar.
Police are said to be looking for two men in connection with the attack and the Department of Foreign Affairs is liaising with his family in Lanzarote and in Ireland.
Mr Cumiskey was on holiday with his sister and some friends when he was fatally assaulted yesterday. He was a special needs student who had completed his Junior Certificate earlier this year.
His sister remains in Lanzarote where Irish diplomatic staff are assisting her.
John Cumiskey, Dereck's father, has said the family is absolutely devastated at the loss.
The principal of St Augustine's School in Blackrock, Phil Gray, said Dereck was a very good-natured young man who will be missed by all the staff at the school and his fellow pupils.
