The US capital, Washington DC, has been added as a host city for tomorrow's global series of Live Earth concerts, thanks to a Native American museum.

The DC show almost did not happen because some Republicans in the US Congress were blocking efforts to get a permit.

Many US Republicans deny the existence of global warming because of their ties to big oil and chemical companies.

Other Live Earth concerts will be held in Rio de Janeiro, London, Sydney, Johannesburg, Tokyo, Shanghai, Hamburg, Germany, and East Rutherford, New Jersey.
