Eight people have been killed and several others were wounded in a blast in northeastern Yemen.
Six Spanish tourists and two Yemeni drivers died in the explosion which occurred near a historical site in the Marib region.
Other Spaniards were injured in the blast.
The suspected car bombing comes after al-Qaeda issued a statement demanding the release of militants jailed in Yemen and warned of unspecified actions.
The historical site is frequented by Western tourists.
