Gardaí say they have broken up an international drugs supply route into the country following yesterday's seizure of drugs with a street value of €3.5million.
A 20-year-old Dublin man is due in court tomorrow morning charged in connection with yesterday's seizure.
420 kilos of herbal cannabis and 10 kilos of cocaine were found during a search of a rental unit at an industrial estate in west Dublin.
The herbal cannabis was found in 420 vacuum packed bags - each containing 1 kilogram of the drug.
Depending on the purity, the slabs of cocaine that were recovered have a street value of between €700,000 and €1million.
A 9mm Beretta handgun and a quantity of ammunition was also found during the search of the industrial unit.
It is believed the drugs and firearm had only recently arrived into the country.
Inspector Jerry Bergin said the search of the industrial estate premises had been one of a number of searches carried out by detectives from local drug units, the Crime Task Force, and the Garda National Drug Unit.
The seizure is part of an ongoing operation between gardaí and members of several UK and European police forces.
