Police investigate sectarian attack

Police in the North are today investigating what they believe is a sectarian attack in west Belfast.

Two male teenagers, aged 16 and 18, and a 21-year-old man were set-upon by a gang of six at Carnamore Park at 8.30am.

One of the victims suffered a face injury, while another had cuts and bruising to his head, nose and leg, as well as a chipped tooth.

One of the attackers was wearing a green and white beanie hat and a yellow top pulled up over his head.

In a separate incident, police in Cookstown are appealing for information after an 18-year-old youth was attacked by a six-man gang last night. He sustained minor injuries.
