A 25-year-old man is in a critical condition in hospital following a shooting incident in Blanchardstown this morning.
The incident occurred at a house at Fortlawn Park at around 5.30am.
A man called to the house and shot the victim in the neck before escaping on a motorcycle.
At 5.35am, a Garda unit found a motorcycle on fire at Sheepmore Grove. It is possible that this motorcycle was used in the crime and it is being technically examined.
The scene at Fortlawn Park is also sealed off for a technical examination.
The injured man was removed to Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown, where his condition is described as critical.
