Police in north Belfast are investigating an armed robbery at a shop near Carlisle Circus on the Antrim Road last night.

The PSNI says three men with their faces covered by hoods and scarves entered the shop at around 10:30pm.

One of the men ordered a female employee to open the till and hand over money. They then made off with a small sum of cash towards the New Lodge area.

No one was injured during the incident.

One of the males was armed with a knife and is described as being approximately 5'10" tall, of stocky build with tanned skin and bushy dark brown eyebrows.

He was wearing a dark coloured hooded top and a navy scarf with a red stripe across the top.

A second man was wearing a sky blue coloured jacket. The third was dressed in a camouflage type jacket.
