Virginia Tech - 32 shot dead

The family of the Virginia Tech campus killer, Cho Seung-Hui, has spoken publicly for the first time since the shooting, and has said that the family had been 'living a nightmare' since the attack.

The parents and sister of the 23-year-old South Korean student apologised for the tragedy and said they felt 'hopeless, helpless and lost'.

The statement released on behalf of the family by Cho's sister, Sun Kyung Cho, was issued yesterday during a day of mourning in Virginia for the 32 students and teachers killed at Virginia Tech last Monday.

The massacre was the deadliest shooting rampage in modern US history.
