A man has died in hospital nine days after being assaulted outside a pub in Co Wexford.
Aidan Gahan, 57, died in Beaumont Hospital in Dublin this morning after suffering head injuries following an assault in the village of Glenbrien in the early hours of Easter Monday.
Mr Gahan was married with three children and was a well-known supermarket owner in the village.
Gardaí believe he was in the pub on Easter Sunday night and was assaulted outside some time later.
He was taken to hospital in Wexford and subsequently transferred to Beaumont, where he remained on life support until this morning.
A post mortem examination on his body is due to take place later today or tomorrow.
It is believed gardaí are following a definite line of inquiry.
